Luckman Ali, a chef in UK claims to have created the most extravagant milkshake in the UK - with each serving containing  real, edible gold.

According to Mirror, the indulgent milkshake called Mayor's Gold is drizzled with gold-infused syrup and topped off with 22-carat gold flakes - with the creators boasting that it might be a bit rich but the taste is on the money.

Luckman, 24, who sells the creations at his Tuchez Ice Cream Parlour in Oldham, Greater Manchester, said each serving contains around two teaspoons of gold flakes.

According to the chef, the recipe is the concoction includes crushed Wispa Gold chocolate bar, white chocolate Lion bars, Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme chocolates added to vanilla ice-cream and the plush toppings of gold.

Luckman’s wife Zaynah came up with the idea after being inspired by luxurious New York cocktails, and he said he specially imports the edible gold flakes from the US.

He said, "I think this is the most expensive milkshake in the world. We squeeze chocolate syrup into it along with edible 22-carat gold syrup.
On top of the milkshake we put whipped cream and then sprinkle it with 22-carat gold flakes."

"It looks amazing. It's just so indulgent," he added.

The milkshake was named Mayor's Gold, after Oldham Mayor, Councillor Ateeque Ur-Rehman, who officially opened the venue this week.

It costs Luckman £28 for just 100mg of the gold flakes and he says he uses around 25mg per serving - around two teaspoons.

And despite the 400-calorie delicacy being packed with gourmet gold, it will only set you back £10.

Luckman said, "It's really a bargain for a bit of gold. As far as we know it is the only real gold milkshake in the UK.

"We had been planning the opening for a while and we knew the mayor was going to come and so we wanted to come up with something unusual.

"You can put anything in a milkshake so we thought let's find something really different.

"We've got the certificates proving it's gold and that it is edible," he claimed.

Speaking of the response he’s gotten from his customers, the chef said, "People don't think of posh milkshakes but here you are. I haven't come across anyone else who has done it. Since we opened we've had a number of people try it and they've absolutely loved it. We haven't had loads though as it is quite expensive."
