Access to water: 40 new chaks planned in Cholistan

Bukhari said a mechanism was being evolved to ensure transparent allotment of canal irrigated land to Cholistanis

BAHAWALPUR: The government wants to ensure equitable distribution of resources and will not allow the people of Cholistan to be deprived of water, Cholistan Development Authority Managing Director Naeem Iqbal Bukhari said on Friday.

He was talking to residents of Cholistan at a public meeting in Khatri Bangla.

He said 40 chaks had been demarcated and 40 others were under demarcation for supply of irrigation water.

He urged citizens to report those who were receiving money from Cholistanis for land allotments.

Bukhari said a mechanism was being evolved to ensure transparent allotment of canal irrigated land to Cholistanis.
