All SHOs of the city have been directed to divide their respective police stations into ‘beats’ and appoint a sub-inspector as the head of each beat. Addressing officials at Rescue 15 on Wednesday, SSP Operations Sajid Kiyani said complete details about any locality should be kept with the beat in-charge, including information on all criminal incidents. The SSP ordered for added security around banks, financial institutions, trade centres and other important locations. He also ordered for special teams to be formed to arrest proclaimed offenders and court absconders, and directed for an operation against car thieves and their associates.
