PESHAWAR: Sabrina Khan, a British citizen of Pakistani origin, has asked Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan and Chief Minister Pervez Khattak to help her repossess family property in Saleh Khana village in Cherat, Nowshera. She claims it has been usurped  by her paternal uncle Mukarram Khan.

Speaking at a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Monday, Sabrina said her paternal uncle seized her ancestral land which had already been divided by her grandfather among his children during his life. The value of the usurped land is estimated to be in millions and belongs to six brothers and two sisters collectively.

Sabrina had been living with her father in England for the last several decades and when they returned to Cherat on August 14, her relatives attacked them and refused to let them enter their own house. “They threatened us with dire consequences if we tried to enter our house again,” said Sabrina.

Call for help

“The police have refused to register an FIR and there’s no one to help us,” cried Sabrina. “My father is suffering from cancer and we are forced to live in a rented house.”

Sabrina said she had requested Pakistani and British embassies for assistance but had not received any response from them.

She believed the PTI government is an emblem of justice and should provide her with assistance in this case. Therefore, she urged IGP Nasir Durrani and the provincial government to take action against Mukarram.
