ISLAMABAD:

CDA Chairman Maroof Afzal has ordered an inquiry against three officers for allegedly withdrawing Rs100 million under the head of repair expenses for tube-wells.

A CDA official disclosed that three officers of CDA’s water department — director Jabar Khan, deputy director Irfan Khokhar and sub-engineer Muhammad Ramzan — withdrew Rs100 million on phony bills in respect of repairing 150 tube-wells.

The inquiry has been conducted against the officers on a complaint of the area in-charge Khalid Ali, who has filed a written application to the CDA chairman. When contacted, sub-engineer Ramzan denied the allegation.
