Dozens of flood-affected people staged a protest demonstration on Saturday.

The protesters blocked the Indus Highway near Ghazi Ghat, suspending the traffic. They said that they were not being provided tents and other relief items.

The protesters were from Sukhera Arain, Haji Ghazi and Rak Chauni village. Habib Pathan, one of the protesters, said that their village had been inundated. “We have no option but to spend our nights in the open due to the non-availability of tents,” he said.

The protesters said that they would stage more protests if the district government did not provide them relief items.
