Dilapidated: Around 290 school buildings declared unsafe

Administration has listed around 290 school buildings in the Rawalpindi district as unsafe.

A survey conducted in 2014 listed over 257 school buildings as ‘dangerous’ while 23 as ‘most dangerous’ due to their dilapidated condition.


Later, the education department also conducted a survey, which declared 384 school building most dangerous. “On the basis of this survey, the education department has sought funds for repair and reconstruction of these buildings,” said an official in the education department.


The education department was directed to review the survey who later put the number at 290.
