PESHAWAR:

A three-day Chinese food festival is under way at Taipan Restaurant, Pearl Continental Hotel in the city. The event commenced on Friday night.

Hotel GM Sheharyar Mirza said the facility prides itself in its food. “Food prepared at PC Peshawar is hygienic and well-cooked,” he said, adding strict preparation procedures are followed by the hotel.

He said the aim of the event is to provide quality food and a breather to the people of Peshawar.

“Chinese food, if authentically prepared, is probably the healthiest and most popular cuisine in the world.” He said unlike other people, the Chinese consider cooking as an art form and not just any other craft. “They take their food very seriously,” he added.

The festival attracted a large number of people on the first day. Dr Fouzia, a local visitor, said, “The food is great, and the ambience and décor are simply outstanding.”

She said such festivals provide the citizens of Peshawar an opportunity to fine dine and have a break from the bustling city life.
