Law and order: Security beefed up in Bahawalpur

He said barriers would be installed at entrances of places of worship

Security has been put on high alert in Bahawalpur, DPO Sarfraz Ahmed Falki said on Friday. 


Talking to newsmen, he said the inspector general of police had issued directions for SHOs to tighten security in their areas.

He said security of mosques, imam bargahs and churches had been made a top priority. He said patrolling around schools and colleges would also be increased.

The DPO said school administrations had been directed to ensure they had trained security guards.

He said barriers would be installed at entrances of places of worship.

The DPO said Muhafiz Squad had been directed to ensure round-the-clock patrolling. He said policemen had been directed to remain vigilant at check posts.

He said vehicles leaving and entering the district should be thoroughly checked and a search operation would be launched against suspects.
