Privatisation: List of 129 units prepared

‘The Corporate Rehabilitation Bill’ has been drafted by SECP and is under process of enactment

The government is restructuring industrial units and a list of 129 units has been prepared for privatisation, informed Parliamentary Secretary for Finance Rana Mohammad Afzal Khan to the National Assembly.


He told the House that a comprehensive law titled, ‘The Corporate Rehabilitation Bill’ has been drafted by the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and is under process of enactment.


Responding to a question, Minister of State for Interior Muhammad Balighur Rehman informed the House that the government was also making efforts for the safety and security of journalists.


He said the government was fully committed to uphold freedom of expression in the country and as a result of government’s seriousness to combat terrorism, the law and order situation had improved.
