While eager fans were anticipating the creator of Humans of New York (HONY) -- Brandon Stanton -- to visit Pakistan, news has it that he may already have left the country after visiting Hunza and the major cities -- Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad.

Although Brandon’s tweet and Facebook post in the early hours of July 30 claimed that  he would be travelling in August and his first stop would be Pakistan, hours later a share on the Humans of New York Facebook page showed a boy from Hunza valley Pakistan, confirming that either he was already in Pakistan or had left.

A source, who spoke to The Express Tribune on condition of anonymity, said that Brandon met several people during his visit and has in fact already left the country. The news remains unconfirmed by the official website or Brandon Stanton himself.

Brandon had earlier revealed on Facebook that Pakistan would be one of the two countries he would be visiting this summer:

“Continuing in the tradition of last summer, I’m going to be travelling during the month of August and posting stories from overseas. Only this time I’ll be visiting two countries instead of trying to span the world, because that was exhausting, and it also caused my poor senile dog to forget my existence. The first stop is Pakistan. Hope you enjoy,” he said.

So much for your dream of being featured on HONY. Or are you one of those lucky people who did get to meet him? Let us know!
