The body of a boy was found lying on the bank of Swat River on the outskirts of Mingora in Swat district on Wednesday morning.


According to a Rahimabad police official, the corpse had numerous bullet wounds on it. He said it is the second body spotted in the area in the recent past.

The official said a resident of Engro Dheri informed the police he had spotted a body along the river bank and presumed it must have washed ashore.

Police party reach the site and shifted the body to Saidu Teaching Hospital for an autopsy.

He said the preliminary post-mortem report reveals the boy, who appeared to be in his late teens, was shot multiple times before being thrown in the river.

He said the identity of the deceased was yet to be confirmed. Police filed a case against unidentified assailants. Further investigation is under way.
