Start of term: Universities announce admission schedule

LAHORE: Several public universities and some private ones announced opening of admissions to their BS (Hons), MS, MPhil and PhD programmes on Monday.

The Punjab University (PU), the Government College University (GCU), the National College of Arts (NCA), the Kinnaird College for Women University, the University of Central Punjab (UCP), the University of Management and Technology (UMT), the Beaconhouse National University (BNU) and various other higher education institutions have announced the admission schedule to undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes.

At GCU, admissions are available to BS (Computer Science) and MS (Computer Science) programmes. The last date for submission of applications is July 31. An entry tests will be held on August 9. Talking to The Express Tribune, a spokesperson of the GCU said that admission to PhD, MPhil and BS (Hons) will open after the announcement of intermediate, bachelor’s and master’s results. He said admissions to BS (Computer Science) and MS (Computer Science) were test-based.

PU has announced admissions in the faculties of Arts and Humanities, Behavioural and Social Sciences, Commerce, Economics and Management Sciences, Education, Engineering and Technology, Islamic Studies, Life Sciences, Oriental Learning, Pharmacy, Sciences and Medicine and Dentistry. Admission forms will be available from the respective departments from August 3. The final date to submit applications will be August 13. Details are available at the university’s website.

At the NCA, the last date to submit applications is August 8. Self-support and self-finance applicants can submit their forms till September 30.

Deadline for admission to the Kinnaird College for Women University is July 8. It is offering admissions in multiple disciplines of its undergraduate, law, postgraduate, Mphil in English Language Teaching and MA in English Language Teaching programmes. The academic session will start on August 24.
