Security plan for Faisalabad finalised, CPO says

As many as 5,768 policemen have been be deployed to secure 1,090 Eid congregations in Faisalabad, the city police officer said on Friday.


Talking to The Express Tribune, CPO Afzal Kausar said out of these, 728 congregations had been arranged for Barelvis, 133 for Deobandis, 136 for Ahle Hadis, 67 for Shias and 26 for others.

The CPO said six superintendents, 13 deputy superintendents, 60 inspectors, 103 sub inspectors and 421 assistant sub inspectors would oversee security arrangements.

He said 171 pickets had been set up in sensitive areas, including Kamal Pur Interchange, Sahianwala Interchange and Deputy Wala.

The CPO said a mounted policeman had been deployed in addition to 15 teams of the Elite Force and 13 teams of Quick Response Force (QRF) for patrolling the district.

He said 123 lady police officials had been deployed at 21 graveyards and 26 public parks. He said police would coordinate with Rescue 1122, Fire Brigade, Civil Defence and the Bomb Disposal Squad in case of an emergency.
