NICL Scam: FIA summons wife, daughter of former minister

FIA team also raids various places to arrest Rana Muhammad Ali.

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has issued summons to the wife and two daughters of former state minister for defence production Major (retd) Habibullah Warraich regarding an ongoing investigation into the 2.75 billion rupees dubious land purchase scam, The Express Tribune has learnt.

The FIA team also raided various places to arrest Rana Muhammad Ali, who is the manger/front-man for Habibullah Warraich’s son Mohsin Habib Warraich. However, no arrests were made.

Muhammad Ali withdrew mostly cash through cheques on behalf of Mohsin Warraich.

The wife and two daughters of Habibullah are also beneficiaries in the land purchase scam in which Mohsin and Privilege Farms Pvt Ltd Company received Rs2.75 billion from the National Insurance Company Limited in account of two land sale agreements.

According to investigations, about a million rupees from the Rs2.75 billion had been transferred into the accounts of the three women of the Warraich family.
