KHAR: At least 42 prisoners jailed under the Frontier Crimes Regulations in Khar prison of Bajaur Agency were released on Tuesday. The order for the release of the prisoners was issued after the visit of Bajaur Political Agent Yahya Akhundzada. He was accompanied by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Shahabuddin, PML-N Fata youth organiser Nizamuddin Khan and others to the jail. On the occasion, MNA Shahabuddin gave Rs50,000 for Iftari and an Eid gift for inmates. The prisoners were advised by PA Akhunzada to steer clear of criminal activities as the agency has already suffered from militancy. Most of the inmates in the jails in Federally Administered Tribal Areas are detained for militancy-related issues and put behind bars under the FCR.
