Widening tax net : Chamber chief urges filing of tax returns

KARACHI: Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry President Mian Muhammad Adrees has urged all businessmen, members of Anjumn-e-Tajiran and shopkeepers who are out of the tax net to file their tax return before September 30, 2015 and get exemption from the withholding tax on all banking transactions. Adrees further informed that a historical agreement had been signed between the business community and the Federal Board of Revenue in the presence of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar through which 0.3% WHT would be adjustable for non-filers up to September 30, 2015 when they will submit their tax return and become tax filers. The chamber president further informed that during the discussion the finance minister advised FBR’s chairman to address the problems of business community.
