Chronic illness: 70-year-old convict dies

Ali was awarded a 25-year sentence for a murder case in 2007 and had been imprisoned for the last eight years

LARKANA: A 70-year-old convict died in the under-trial prisoners ward of Chandka Medical College Hospital on Tuesday. Nawab Ali, son of Ghulam Hussain Mashori, a resident of Khairpur Nathan Shah, was admitted to the hospital on June 8 for chronic liver disease treatment. He was also suffering from Hepatitis B. Ali was awarded a 25-year sentence for a murder case in 2007 and had been imprisoned for the last eight years. Police sources said that Sindh High Court circuit bench in Larkana granted him bail on Monday for the sum of Rs50,000 but he was not released due to incomplete documents.
