LAHORE: Commuters have praised the Pakistan Railways management on its decision to replace track on the Lahore-Narowal-Sialkot (LNS) route.

Talking to APP on Tuesday, Daily Passengers’ Association chairman Hafiz Abdul Qayyum said Sialkot generated huge amounts of revenue for the province.

He said due to the poor condition of the rail track between Lahore and Sialkot, trains serving the route had to restrict their speeds to 35 kilometres per hour.

He said the decision to replace track along the route would help reduce travel time on the route and benefit dozens of commuters travelling between Sialkot, Narowal, Pasrur, Narang Mandi and Badomalhi.

He requested the PR management to finalise the initial study of the track on an emergency basis so that work on replacement of the track could be completed without any delay.

Hafiz also praised Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique for his efforts for the revival of the department.
