SWAT: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Swat announced the result for the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations of 2015 late Sunday. As many as 18,939 candidates were declared successful out of 23,636 who took the exams.

While talking to The Express Tribune on Monday, BISE Assistant Controller Inayatullah Khan said 80% of the candidates cleared their papers.

The top scorer is a student from Swat Public School Mingora, Muhammad Haris, who obtained 1,043 marks out of 1,100.

Khan added the 2nd position holder is Shafiur Rahman from Swat Children Academy. He obtained 1,033 marks while Abbas Rasheed, a student of Al-Farooq Public School from Buner also came in second with the same marks.

This year, said Khan, 80% of the students passed in the science group while 73% passed in the arts group.

However, students of some schools in the district held protests on Monday against unjust scoring.

According to Khan, a handful of students of Hira Model School demonstrated in front of Wadudia Hall, after which the administration officials of BISE Swat reached the site and noted their complaints.

Khan said BISE will look into the matter and their exam papers will be rechecked.
