Exhibition: Photos on Punjabi culture featured

The competition features 1,300 photographs in the professional and amateur categories

LAHORE: The Media Foundation and Umeed-i-Jawan held the Heritage and Culture of the Punjab photography competition at Race Course Park on Monday. Shafiq Malik, a photographer for The Express Tribune was awarded third prize in the professional category. The competition featured 1,300 photographs in the professional and amateur categories. As many as 150 photographers – 67 professional and 83 amateur – from all over the province entered their best work depicting the best of Punjab’s colours and heritage. Ibrahim Nagi stood first in the professional category, Rana Imran second and Shafiq Malik third. In the amateur category, Shahbaz Aslam stood first, Usman Aslam second and Rana Ashfaq Manzoor got third prize. Position holders received cameras, laptops and tablets by The Media Foundation chairperson Hasan Askari and PML-N leader Zakia Shahnawaz. Family and friends of the contesters were also present at the park. The exhibition is open to the public for a few days.
