LAHORE: Justice Mansoor Ali Shah of Lahore High Court on Wednesday summoned a relevant officer of the Faisalabad Agricultural University on a petition by a graduate of the university. The student had complained that the university administration had refused to issue a master’s degree to him even though he had completed all the requirements for a degree. The petitioner said he had completed his MSc Chemistry degree in 2013 and had obtained special permission from the university to appear in an extra semester to improve his grades. He said later the university administration refused to issue a degree saying that he had been given permission to improve his grades against the rules. He said the administration told him that they had made a mistake in giving him permission to attend an extra semester and they would not issue a degree with improved grades. He said he had filed a petition against this in court in 2013 and it was still pending adjudication. Justice Shah summoned relevant officials of the university in court on Thursday (today) for their reply to the petition.
