LAHORE:

The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has directed its partner schools to ensure availability of classrooms in accordance with the number of students.

In a circular issued on Saturday, its partner schools under the Education Voucher Scheme (EVS) are directed to ensure that they have separate rooms in the building for each class. It said no more than 35 students should be accommodated in a room. It also directs the schools to maintain 1:35 teacher to student ratio in their schools.

The circular directs schools to enforce strict cleanliness guidelines at their premises. It says a separate building should be arranged to accommodate students if their number exceeds the prescribed number.

“The second campus should be established within 200 metres from the main campus in such a situation,” it says.
