Express December 13, 2010

The final batch of Block-52 F-16 Jet fighters arrived in Pakistan from the United States on Monday.

Six new F-16 aircrafts landed at the Shahbaz Airbase, while Pakistan had already received 12 fighter jets earlier.

Pakistan had signed a contract with the US government back in 2005-06 for acquisition of 18 F-16 C/D Block 52 aircraft.

Under this arrangement, the PAF would receive these state-of-the-art aircraft from the US government in staggered batches.

The F-16 C/D Block 52 aircraft is a high tech fighter aircraft equipped with state-of-the-art avionics suite and latest weapons having Night Precision Attack capability.
