University of Peshawar has achieved its highest position in the Higher Education Commission ranking in the last five years.


In 2014, the varsity was ranked fifth among universities in HEC’s general category and landed 11th spot in the list of 168 recognised universities of the country.

“The improvement in ranking shows our academic and research activities are moving in the right direction,” said UoP Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Rasul Jan.

He was meeting the heads of teaching departments in the Sir Sahibzada Abdul Qayyum Auditorium on Thursday.

He appreciated the efforts of faculty members and staff for their contribution towards University of Peshawar’s achievement. During the meeting, the department heads informed the VC that master’s and BS programmes have been completed and exams for undergraduate students will be held from the first week of June as per the academic calendar of the university.
