Two security personnel, 15 militants killed in North Waziristan

Officials say attack was massive, and militants used modern weaponry

PESHAWAR: At least two security forces personnel were killed and another was injured when militants attacked a check post in Ghulam Khan area of North Waziristan on Friday.

Speaking to The Express Tribune, a security forces official said that 15 suspected militants were also killed in retaliatory action.

Officials stated that the attack was massive, and militants used modern and heavy weaponry.

The killed personnel of Touchi Scouts were identified as Naik Qasam and Jawan Tariq. After the attack, the injured, Fahad Mehdi Shah was airlifted from the site to Miranshah.

Soon after the attack, security forces cordoned off the area and conducted a search operation.

Earlier this month, a militant was killed and two security forces personnel were injured in a search operation carried out by Frontier Corps in the Mashky area of Balochistan’s embattled district Awaran .

According to a Frontier Corps spokesperson, acting on a tip off security forces carried out the search operation in Aspait area of Mashky in Awaran district against the outlawed Baloch Liberation Front.
