FATA Director General Projects Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah said the government was committed to facilitating the repatriation of displaced people and providing basic facilities across the tribal belt.

He was addressing the sixth meeting of the Donors Coordination Steering Committee (DCSC) held at a local hotel in Islamabad. The meeting was attended by government officers, the international donors’ community and members of the civil society organisations.

The DG said the government, in collaboration with international development partners, had taken many interventions for mainstreaming Fata. He said the journey would continue and a lot more had to be done in this regard.

Welcoming the participants, Shah said that the DCSC had a mechanism to bring all the stakeholders together and help them synergise their efforts in a concerted manner. He hoped that the forum would provide a basis for sustainable development
