LUCKNOW: While stating that terrorism should not be associated with any particular religion, Indian Home Minister Rajnath Singh lauded Indian Muslims for not allowing fundamentalist groups like Islamic State to influence them.

Addressing the media in Lucknow on Monday, Singh said "Muslims in India are nationalists. They have always opposed such (terror) elements. They have opposed and demoralised them."

According to Singh, in the past one year, Naxalism has declined by 20 to 25 per cent and that all countries around the globe should fight unitedly against terrorism.

The minister further silenced the opposition and its questions about Modi's frequent foreign trips by stating that it was a customary practice for leaders to visit other countries, however the 'warm welcome' given to Modi reflects upon the country's goodwill and prestige in the eyes of the host countries.

John B | 8 years ago | Reply Indian Muslims shaped the egalitarian outlook of Islam of the past and the rescue of Islam from jihadi mind set of today is in their hands once again. It was Indian Muslim Ummah of the past who gave Islamic scholarship. The outlook of indian Muslims are unique. While the west and even Muslim nations are trying to figure out multiculturalism, India has crossed that issue centuries ago. Such cultural amalgamation is unique to India and precedes the modern concept of secularism. Muslims in India shape India and the rest of India shape Muslims. Nowhere in the world, mosques, temples, and churches exist on the same street in a well oiled manner teaming with humanity.
