PESHAWAR: Over 100 suspects including 25 Afghans were arrested on Sunday during search operations carried out by police in various areas of Peshawar, Express News reported.

“Around 25 Afghans, who were illegally residing in the city, were among the 100 arrested,” the police officials said.

Acting on a tip-off, security forces raided Gulberg, Nouthela, Bara Road, Saddar Bazaar and Pashktakhra areas.

A large cache of weapons was also seized from the miscreants and investigation was carried out in this regard.

On May 22, at least four suspected terrorists, who were allegedly involved in the Wagah Border attack in Lahore last year, were also killed in a Karachi raid.
