Road Rage: Two killed, six injured in accident

The driver rammed into the motorcycle while trying to overtake a tractor trolley

HARIPUR: At least two people were killed while six others were injured when a pickup crashed into a roadside tree after hitting a motorcycle on GT Road near Sera-e-Gadai on Saturday. Police and eyewitnesses told The Express Tribune six teachers from Chamba Pind High School for Girls were travelling in the vehicle to Chamba village when the incident occurred. The driver rammed into the motorcycle while trying to overtake a tractor trolley. As a result, Sarfraz, who was riding the motorcycle, was killed on the spot. According to police, the pickup driver then lost control of the vehicle and it overturned, hitting a tree. All six teachers onboard and the driver were injured and shifted to Women and Children Hospital Haripur. Rubina, a resident of Sera-e-Gadai and one of the teachers who were injured, succumbed to her injuries. The remaining five women and driver are reportedly being treated at the facility. According to hospital officials, two of the injured are in critical condition.
