BANNU:

Awami National Party’s Bannu chapter has announced its separation from the tripartite alliance in the district. The party alleged PPP and JUI-F leaders deviated from the set principles of their alliance.

While speaking to the media on Saturday, ANP Bannu General Secretary Naz Ali Khan asked party workers not to support the alliance parties – PPP and JUI-F – in the election. Khan said the district leadership took this decision after mutual consultation.

He added that like other parts of the province, ANP in Bannu made an alliance with JUI-F and PPP, however, despite an agreement over seat adjustment, both parties fielded their candidates against ANP’s ticket holders across the district.

He asked all ANP workers to refrain from taking part in the election and campaigning activities of JUI-F and PPP. He appealed to them to only support party candidates and make them successful.

In the run-up to LG polls, the tripartite alliance has not been faring too well. At the end of last month, ANP’s DI Khan President Shahab Khan also announced his party chapter’s decision to walk out of the alliance in the district.
