About 300 participants from 35 countries attended the conference titled “Building Bridges Across the World”, which concluded on Thursday.
Noted speakers participated in 10 sessions, during which they discussed social, national and international issues. The delegates interviewed were happy with the arrangements and said that such events should be held regularly.
The organisers of the festival told APP that the government intended to make the conference an annual feature. However the next year’s date and venue was yet to be decided. They added that the conference helped remove some misperceptions about Pakistan. “The delegates appreciated this initiative that provided them an opportunity to share their experiences with each other,” an organiser said.
Some delegates also suggested holding youth conferences in other countries in rotation to so that participants can get exposure to new cultures. Besides, they said there should be an exchange of youth delegations among the participating countries on a regular basis.
