Kajol and Ajay Devgn may have worked together in the past, but this time the star couple will be surrounded by a bunch of animated characters in Toonpur Ka Superrhero, a live action film mixed with animation.

The couple, which last worked together in the 2008 film U, Me Aur Hum, has high hopes for their latest venture. Spotted at the music launch of the animation film, Kajol and Devgn shared their thoughts about the project.

“We have made a good film so we are confident. It is very nice. I would call it a hard-core comedy and the added attraction is that it is animated. The film is for kids and adults,” Devgn told IANS.

Talking about her experience of working with her husband again, Kajol said, “It’s great fun working with people you know. The best part is that you’re comfortable with each other.”

And why did she decide to be a part of an animation film?

“I liked the idea a lot. Most importantly, the script and the screenplay were very good. All the cartoons were very interesting characters. The whole script was very tight. So I decided to do it,” she said.

When asked which character of Devgn impressed her the most, Kajol said, “I’m very impressed with Ajay Devgn in real life than any of his on-screen characters.”

“I personally think Ajay is the most versatile actor that we have today. He has been successful in all genres - whether comedy or drama,” Kajol added.

Produced by Krishika Lulla and Kumar Mangat Pathak, Toonpur Ka Superrhero has been directed by Kireet Khurana.

Set to hit theatres on December 24, Toonpur Ka Superrhero is expected to face fierce competition from Farah Khan’s big budget film Tees Maar Khan, scheduled to release around the same time. But Devgn is not nervous and says that his is a well-made film and he is confident about its box office prospects.

“So many films are being made, so you hardly get a solo week. Also every film is different, so there is no point of comparing the two. The genre of our film is very different from that of Tees Maar Khan,” said the actor.
