Bodies of two minors found in Lahore sewage pond

Police say drowning of the two brothers - 3-year-old and 5-year-old - was an accident

LAHORE: Bodies of two minors were found on Sunday in a sewage pond in Lahore, Express News reported.

The deceased, 3-year-old and 5-year-old, were brothers and residents of Clifton Colony.

As soon as the bodies were recovered, an FIR was filed at Shahdra Town police station. The bodies were then sent for postmortem.

The Station House Officer said the drowning of the two children was an accident.

The families of the victims also protested at the Shahdra Chowk right after the recovery.

In Narowal, bodies of two girls were also recovered from their house.

According to police, Saba and Tanzila were found dead in Urdu Afghana area.

"The bodies did not bear any torture marks," the security forces said as they investigate the incident.

"Bury me in the graveyard located near the [Narowal] Station" was written on the arms of the deceased, according to a postmortem report.

The two victims were friends for the last two years.

District police officer Narowal constituted a special investigation team to probe into the incident.
