Lej activist: Alleged killer of 8 policemen held

His name was on the ‘red book’

QUETTA: A man suspected of involvement in the killing of policemen and implicated in a series of bombings was arrested on Tuesday in the Lasbela district of Balochistan. “The militant belonging to the outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) is involved in killing of eight police personnel and wanted in connection with bomb blasts,” District Police Officer Bashir Ahmed Brohi told The Express Tribune. Acting on a tip-off, Brohi said, police raided a room in Lasbela University and arrested the militant who is identified as Alam Zaib, a student of the same varsity. His name was on the ‘red book’ and a bounty of Rs3 million was offered for information leading to his arrest.
