Taken: Boy rescued, kidnappers arrested

NOWSHERA: A boy who had been kidnapped for ransom approximately a week ago was rescued by Akbarpura police on Saturday. Two of the accused kidnappers were also arrested. Akbarpura police official Akhtar Naseer said Awal Khan had been abducted by then unidentified men on April 27 from outside his house. According to Naseer, the Nowshera DPO and DSP issued special directives for the recovery of Khan. Evidence led the police to the boy and the two accused abductors Maula Dad of Kohatian, Chamkani and Jehandir, a resident of Mohallah Dhobian in Akbarpura. During initial interrogation, the two men reportedly confessed to having kidnapped Khan for a ransom of Rs1.2 million. Both the accused were later handed over to the counter-terrorism department for further investigation.
