HANGU:

Officials of the Provincial Disaster Management Authority and United Nations Refugee Agency have announced that the IDPs camp in Togh Sarai, Hangu would be shut down.

During a visit on Wednesday, PDMA Chief Coordinator Waseem Khattak and UNHCR Field Associate Changez Khan asked the displaced people of Orakzai Agency to start repatriating to those areas which have been cleared of militants.

The displaced people of Kurram Agency have been asked to shift to the Durrani Camp in the agency as authorities can no longer run the camp in Hangu.

The IDPs who do not want to return home have been given the option to move to Jalozai camp in Nowshera. However, an elder of the IDPs camp committee, Mehboob, said they want to be repatriated to their native areas instead of going to Jalozai.
