LAHORE:

Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Punjab chapter will take out a rally to observe the International Labour Day on May 1, said a statement issued on Saturday.

The rally will start from the city railway station and end at the Lahore Press Club.

The announcement was made after a PPP Punjab meeting, chaired by PPP Central Punjab president Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo.

Representatives of trade unions, farmers, minorities, human rights activists and ulema attended the meeting.

Wattoo said that May Day would be celebrated with the same enthusiasm as it was observed under the leadership of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto.

Wattoo said divisional, district and tehsil party leaders had also been directed to hold seminars and rallies on the day.
