KARACHI: Pakistan’s Shahram Changezi kicked off his Asian Snooker Championship campaign in style, thumping Japan’s Shuji Hase 4-0 in his opening match in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The Japanese cueist offered some resistance in the first two frames, but abruptly lost concentration in the next two, in which Shahram conceded just one point and accumulated over a 100 points twice. He won with a scoreline of 78-26, 57-38, 109(102)-1 and 121-0.

Asif started off with a bang and hit a century break in the first frame. However, he lost the next two to go 2-1 down. But the veteran fought back and eventually won with overall scores of 147(119)-0, 22-62, 26-65, 91(75)-14, 84-7 and 88-15.
Youngster Hamza Akbar also won with a scoreline of 4-2 against Kuwait’s Alkandari Abdullah with scores of 88-24, 31-60, 60-48, 61-12, 30-79 and 42-41.
