ISLAMABAD: The Sindh government has decided to start operation against target killers, criminals and dacoits in rural and urban areas of the province.

After receiving intelligence reports that a good number of diehard criminals have fled from Karachi during the ongoing operation and have taken refuge in other parts of the province, the Sindh government authorities have decided to take the operation into the interior and urban centers of the province. This was disclosed by sources in the Sindh government to The Express Truibune on the condition of anonymity.

Sources said that a meeting of the provincial implementation committee of the National Action Plan (NAP) to curb crime and target killing in the province met the other day in Karachi and reviewed progress of the ongoing operation. The meeting presided over by Sindh Governor was attended by the Chief Minister, Corps Commander and senior officials who expressed satisfaction over the results of the operation against target killers and criminals in Karachi.

It was revealed in the meeting that although visible improvement has been witnessed in the law and order situation due to killing and arrest of a number of target killers, a number of criminal elements involved in street crimes and target killing have managed to escape from Karachi to interior Sindh. This has become a matter of concern for the authorities.
