Napier Mole | 9 years ago | Reply @ JAK I am a full supporter of justice done across the board. If there are criminal elements in mqm, of course, they should be brought to task. The issues occur when only a single party or group of people are targeted and when law enforcement agencies earn the perception of taking sides and becoming a political party. It is this perception which then creates a siege mentality for a party or for a city. Rangers could have continued to just target the criminal elements in all parties and should have just ensured the security of the elections. Unforunately, by raising demands for biometric identification and issuing draconian orders like the compulsory carrying of ID cards and then giving public statements against mqm, they have blown the good work they had done by clearing Karachi, to some extent at least, of criminal and terror elements. The comments section of the blogs are also testament to the overdrive of the rangers media cell. It is high time that such ham handedness is brought under control by saner elements in the army.
