FAISALABAD:
A man committed suicide after shooting dead his father-in-law and injuring his wife near Factory Area police station on Monday.
Factory Area Station House Officer Mehr Nadeem Anjum told The Express Tribune that the man, a resident of Chak 232-RB, had married some years ago.
He said the couple often argued. He said his had wife left him a few weeks ago.
He said on Monday, the woman and her father went to his house to settle the dispute.
He said the man shot and killed his father-in-law after an argument. His wife was also injured in the incident. Later, he turned the gun on himself.
The bodies were taken to Allied Hospital for post mortem examination. The SHO said the injured woman was taken to the hospital in a critical condition.
He said police had not received a formal complaint in the case.
