Internal threats to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are more credible than external threats, says Khan

LAHORE:

Pakistan is a security state due to its geostrategic location, former foreign secretary Shamshad Ahmad Khan said on Sunday.

He was addressing a seminar on the nation’s role in the Yemen imbroglio at the Tech Society Club. He said that the Saudi-intervention in Yemen could set the precedent for an Indian attack on Pakistan. “Internal threats to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia are more credible than external threats,” Khan said.

Senator SM Zafar said Pakistan would guarantee the security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He said the recent parliamentary resolution on the conflict had reaffirmed the nation’s commitment on this account. He said the military would take action in the event of any threat to the kingdom’s security.
