HYDERABAD:

As summer heat soars higher every passing day, power outages have increased causing more disruption to business activity, infuriating the business community and normal citizens as well.

The Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) has warned of a shutter-down strike, including industrial zones, if the eight- to ten-hour power suspension is not resolved immediately.

HESCO CEO Mohammad Saleem Jatt said the company gets 58% to 62% of its total demand every day from the national grid. Officially, HESCO has announced scheduled load shedding of six hours in urban areas, eight in rural and industrial areas and up to 12 hours in the areas of high lines losses.

However, the daily power suspension lasts a few hours more than the schedule.
