Cantonment elections: PTI finals candidates from four boards

Candidates from Gujranwala and Sargodha cantonments to be announced today.

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday announced its candidates for elections in four cantonment boards.

They boards are: Lahore Walton, Lahore Cantonment, Sialkot Cantonment and Okara Cantonment.

Earlier, the party had announced candidates for seven cantonments. Nominations for Gujranwala and Sargodha cantonments will be announced on Thursday (today).

PTI Punjab president Ejaz Chaudhry announced the candidates.

“The names have been finalised after consulting the respective district committees. The PTI and its candidates are pursuing an aggressive campaign to win the cantonment elections. Rigging will not be tolerated,” he said.

In Lahore Cantonment, Ustad Rasheed Ahmed will contest from Ward 3; Shahnaz Khan from Ward 4; Raja Shahzad from Ward 5; Muhammad Taimoor Akhtar from Ward 6; Sajjad Kharal from Ward 7 and Haji Ateequr Rehman from Ward 8.

In Walton Cantonment, Ahsan Butt will contest the elections on a PTI ticket from Ward 1; Akbar Gujjar from Ward 5; Rana Sajid from Ward 6; Nasir Shahid Lodhi from Ward 7; Ghulam Sarwar Kasuri from Ward 8; Shaukat Jutt from Ward 9 and Chaudhry Akhtar Ali from Ward 10.

In Sialkot Cantonment, Gulraiz Sheikh will contest from Ward 2, Rashid Asif from Ward 3 and Syed Ahmad Raza from Ward 4.

In Okara Cantonment, Shazia Nawaz will contest from Ward 1, Raja Mubashir from Ward 2 and Imran from Ward 3.
