LAHORE: Lahore police arrested on Thursday the son of former state minister for foreign affairs accused of killing a teenager, Express News reported.

Mustafa Kanjo – who was driving his car – allegedly opened fire on a vehicle near Cavalry Ground area which led to the killing of fifteen-year-old Zain and a pedestrian being injured. Mustafa is the son of former minister Siddique Kanjo.

Earlier today, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had ordered Lahore police to arrest Mustafa Kanjo.

While Mustafa fled from the scene, the guards of the suspect were arrested by police right after the incident. A First Information Report (FIR) was also registered against the former minister's son.

Taking notice of the incident, Shahbaz ordered the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Haider Ashraf to arrest the suspect, carry out an investigation in the matter and submit a report.

The family of the deceased has reportedly received death threats for taking action against the accused.

"The killers of my son should be executed," the mother of the teenager said. She also appealed to the prime minister for help.

In order to find evidence, police conducted post-mortem examination on the body of the deceased.

The DIG said he has requested the authorities to put Mustafa's name on the Exit Control list.

"A special investigating team will be constituted to probe into the incident," he added.

Asad | 9 years ago | Reply CM Punjab took notice of so many incidents including the brutal hanging of a kid after being raped and a kid whose both hands were chopped off by a landowner. But we have not seen a single criminal being caught. CM just take notices and we see him in the news, that's what he does best and nothing else!
