Concealed explosives: ‘Toy’ bomb injures three

A Bilitang police officer said a boy was playing with a toy he found near his residence.

KOHAT: Three children were injured when a ‘toy’ bomb exploded inside a house in Khairmato, Kohat on Wednesday. A Bilitang police officer said a boy was playing with a toy he found near his residence and later took it to his house. The officer added the boy threw the toy on the ground at home, as a result of which it exploded and injured three siblings, Hajra, 18, Fazal Haq, 15, and Shamzul Haq, 13. The injured children’s father Maulana Muhammad complained to the police and the injured were rushed to District Headquarters Hospital, Kohat. The police official said bomb disposal unit’s personnel later visited the site and shared that high-quality explosives and a non-electric detonator were fitted in the toy.
