ISLAMABAD: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) notified on Tuesday a cut in power tariff for all consumers.

The power regulator issued a notification to slash power tariff for K-Electric consumers by Rs1.23 per unit for December 2014. K-Electric consumer used 1.6 billion units in month of December, according to the notification.

Further, Nepra slashed power tariff by Rs 2.08 per unit for consumers of other distribution companies on account of fuel adjustment for January 2015. The consumers of these companies used 6.88 billion units in January.

The reference fuel cost was Rs11.36 per unit whereas actual cost remained at Rs9.27 per unit in month of January.
