Pakistani political leadership appears to have been caught between the devil and the deep sea
ISLAMABAD: Military intervention by Saudi Arabia in the conflict in Yemen is ringing alarm bells not only around the troubled Middle East but also the entire world, especially in Pakistan. In this situation, the current Pakistani political leadership appears to have been caught between the devil and the deep sea.
Our bond with Iran and Saudi Arabia is a classic and enviable one, not only at the government level but is deep-rooted among the people as well. However, the ruling elite are requested to encourage reconciliation between the warring countries as continued war among these countries can jeopardise peace and the global economy.
