Deadly Feud: Tribal clash claims four lives

HYDERABAD/ DADU: A tribal feud claimed four lives and injured a man near the Jatoi railway crossing in Dadu district on Thursday. Police said that armed men opened fire at a taxi in which the victims were travelling from Khair Muhammad Chandio village to attend a hearing at the Dadu district court. The deceased were identified as Budhal Khan Chandio, Riaz Hussain Chandio, Ali Baksh Chandio and driver Riaz Hussain Langah. Ali’s son Hussain Chandio was also critically injured and was shifted to Civil Hospital, Hyderabad. Dadu SSP Rukhsar Ahmed Khuwarh claimed the incident was linked to a three-decade-long tribal feud. According to a cousin of the deceased, Ghulam Sarwar Chandio, 22 people from their family and 18 from their rivals have so far been killed in the feud. The police claimed to have arrested a suspect and registered the case.
